During the late 1980s, Lynch met the television producer Mark Frost and they decided to start working together on a project that never got off the ground. It was whilst they were talking in a coffee shop that Lynch and Frost both had the idea of a corpse washing up on the shore of a lake, and using this image as a basis subsequently set about on their third project, which they initially named Northwest Passage but which would eventually come to fruition as the television series Twin Peaks.
Placebo are an androgynous glam rock band formed by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, who gained notoriety with their cover of "20th Century Boy" on the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack. Their studio album "Meds" features duets with Alison Mosshart of The Kills ("Meds") and Michael Stipe ("Broken Promise").
